Member Monday this week is spotlighting Andrew Kyser. Andrew came to mind initially because of how hard he’s been working this Grit session! We love witnessing members give 100% of themselves every class-it’s so rewarding!
PF: What made you decide to start coming to Phoenix Fitness?
AK: I enjoy group fitness, Les Mills classes specifically, and the community that Phoenix Fitness offers!
PF: How often do you come to Phoenix Fitness?
AK: I try to make it 5-6 times a week.
PF: What classes do you take and do you have a favorite?
AK: I take RPM, Bodypump, CX Works and GRIT. Even though I love all of the classes I would probably say Bodypump is my favorite.
PF: What do you love about Phoenix Fitness?
AK: I love the community that it offers and how the instructors push me to limits that I would not go on my own.
PF: What advice do you have for new Phoenix Fitness members or people curious about what we offer?
AK: Don't be afraid to try new classes. Trying a class for the first time can be intimidating, believe me-I know, but don't let that stop you from reaching your fitness goals. Often a mix of all the classes they offer is what will really get you there.
PF: Outside of Phoenix Fitness-what are your favorite hobbies?
AK: I enjoy running, I have ran 5 half-marathons and 2 full-marathons. I currently have taken a break from running due to a foot injury. My goal is to start training for the Detroit full marathon this summer.
PF: Share one thing people at Phoenix Fitness might not know about you.
AK: Four years ago I was overweight (90 lbs. heavier) and was really self-conscience. I decided to take charge by changing my eating habits and working out regularly. I started working out on my own and then I was introduced to group fitness. My weight continues to be a struggle however, with a community such as Phoenix Fitness, I am held accountable and strive to improve.
Thank you Andrew for taking time to talk with us! We love seeing you in class, thanks for continuing to inspire us with your hard work and accountability!
