Denisa Darsow is a regular fixture in our morning classes at Phoenix Fitness. It doesn’t matter which class she’s doing you can always find her in the back giving 100% while still smiling the most beautiful smile. We’ve had numerous members mention Denisa as the person who inspires them to keep going because she’s often doing back-to-back classes and because she’s just so strong.
PF: What made you decide to start coming to Phoenix Fitness?
DD: I was a long time member of SWAT and absolutely loved the Les Mills classes and especially the class instructors. These instructors are a step above with their training and really care about their members. They get to know you by your first name and make sure everyone at every fitness level has a place in their classes. They push you to reach your fitness goals while making it fun at the same time. When I found out theses instructors were going to Phoenix Fitness it was a no-brainer for me.
PF: How often do you come to Phoenix Fitness?
DD: I come to Phoenix Fitness 5-6 days a week.
PF: What classes do you take and do you have a favorite?
DD: I take advantage of all the classes at Phoenix Fitness-well its been a while for RPM but I am working on it. My favorites are BODYPUMP and CXWORX but I love them all. Each class does something different for my mind and body. I think I notice the most change in my body from BODYPUMP.
PF: What do you love about Phoenix Fitness?
DD: EVERYTHING!! As aforementioned, the instructors are top notch. The owners are passionate about what they are doing here and strive to always improve. I feel like I am part of a family where everyone cares about you and wants to help. The facility has great equipment and accommodations. The Les Mills classes are the best!!
PF: What advice do you have for new Phoenix Fitness members or people curious about what we offer?
DD: Try it for two weeks.....not just one day! The first class I tried years ago was BODYPUMP and I struggled to return the next time, but I am so glad I did. These classes will transform your body but you need to be patient and give it your all!!
PF: Outside of Phoenix Fitness-what are your favorite hobbies?
DD: I love the outdoors. Hiking, walking, running, canoeing or quite frankly just sitting outside reading a book and listening to nature. I love to bake as well as spend time with my family as much as I can!
PF: Share one thing people at Phoenix Fitness might not know about you.
DD: I grew up on a farm in Minnesota. Moved to Portage, MI in 2005. I have been married for 25 years and have 3 kids. Since October of 2013 I have lost 35 pounds doing Les Mills classes and eating right!! Ok, that's more than one thing I guess. ☺
