Kelly Lueer is a woman on a mission as soon as she enters the hollowed doors of Phoenix Fitness. Though many early morning fitness people are barely able to utter a hello in the morning fog, Kelly is one that is wearing a smile and a cheerful hello no matter the time of day. We believe her positive attitude and her love of life is what has allowed her to lose weight (and keep it off!) as well as find this new state of peace. PF: What made you decide to start coming to Phoenix Fitness?
KL: Being a previous SWAT member it was easy and a no-brainer to follow Marta and her amazing trainers to Phoenix Fitness. I knew Phoenix Fitness was the best fitness option for me and I knew they would take me out of my comfort zone to get me to where I needed to be. The Les Mills classes are by far the best around. The class format gets the body in shape and the phenomenal instructors make it fun and they keep you motivated! Who knew that working out would be so much fun!!
PF: How often do you come to Phoenix Fitness?
KL: I am at Phoenix Fitness about 3-4 times a week.
PF: Which classes do you take and do you have a favorite?
KL: I start my mornings with RPM & BODYPUMP on Monday & Wednesdays, BODYPUMP on Friday and BODYPUMP & BODYSTEP on Saturdays. It's incredible how great you feel getting your day started off right! My favorite class...hmmm, that's a tough one. With each class I try I find that I love them all, but BODYPUMP is definitely a favorite. Not only do I get an amazing whole body workout each and every time. I also have gained so much strength, confidence and a body that I don't recognize sometimes LOL. The instructors keep me motivated, they are encouraging and very supportive and they know how to push me enough to see even more results and the music is off the chain.
PF: What do you love about Phoenix Fitness?
KL: EVERYTHING! The instructors, the classes, the members! Marta Franco and all the trainers truly care about our fitness and well-being and it shows! They have given me my life back and it is the most amazing gift!
PF: What advice do you have for new Phoenix Fitness members or people curious about what we offer?
KL: Step out of your comfort zone and just try the classes. You will be hooked after the first one. Its mind over matter. You have to make the first move-you won't be disappointed and you will be transformed, mind, body, soul.
PF: Outside of Phoenix Fitness-what are your favorite hobbies?
KL: Spending time with my family and friends, hanging out with my dogs, anything that keeps me outside in the spring/summer, gardening (I love to play in the dirt), and home improvement projects:)
PF: Share one thing people at Phoenix Fitness might not know about you.
KL: I am getting married in 30 days! (Editor’s note: YAY!!!) My fiance, Michael and I have been together for almost 3 years, but we've known each other for over 10 years. I started this fitness journey the day Phoenix Fitness opened their doors in hopes of losing some weight and getting toned so I wouldn't look horrible in my wedding dress and photos (the camera has NEVER been my friend LOL). Not only did I achieve that goal, but I have gained so much more in my way of thinking. I have never been one to think about my health and fitness, I am not a work-out person (if you can believe that!), but now it is a way of life. I can't imagine my life without Phoenix Fitness, they gave me my life back. I'm not stopping yet, I still have some work to do. I want to get leaner, I want to get stronger, I want to lose more weight. On my 52nd birthday (coming up in September) I will reach my ultimate goal. Not bad for someone over 50! So proud of the person I have become. I feel amazing all thanks to everyone at Phoenix Fitness!
Do you feel that? Goosebumps! There is something so revolutionary about a person finding out how strong and empowered he/she actually is.
