There may be no other member that instills so many comments from our transformation team about hard work than Jill Greiner. When Jill shows up to class she truly Shows. Up! You may not hear a lot from Jill during class but the way she approaches the workout (and life in general) with so much passion and determination speaks volumes to all around her.
PF: What made you decide to start coming to Phoenix Fitness?
JG: 2 words, Marta Franco. As a prior member of SWAT, I knew Marta and the type of person she was. You never really know what you’re getting into when signing up with a new gym. With Phoenix Fitness I knew that we were all in good hands with Marta when it came to the instructors, the class selection and wanting the best for her members. I was taking Les Mills classes at SWAT so I knew I needed to find somewhere that I could continue them and I couldn’t ask for a better place than Phoenix Fitness.
PF: How often do you come to Phoenix Fitness?
JG: I usually try to make it 5-6 times a week.
PF: Which classes do you take and do you have a favorite?
JG: I take BODYPUMP, RPM, BODYATTACK, CXWORX, GRIT and BODYFLOW. Tough question…I’d have to go with BODYATTACK as my favorite. It’s challenging, fun and never gets easy. I always walk out of there feeling like I got the best workout. GRIT and BODYPUMP would be next in line. GRIT is ridiculously challenging but I’ve become so much stronger by incorporating that into my routine.
PF: What do you love about Phoenix Fitness?
JG: The classes and instructors. As mentioned above, I love the Les Mills classes. I have been to other gyms that offer them and while the choreography is the same, it all comes down to the instructor. Everyone at Phoenix Fitness is beyond motivating. They know each member’s level of fitness and they push you to your next level. They talk a lot about not coming and just “checking the box”. It would be easy for them as instructors to just “check the box” as well, but they never do. They hold themselves to a higher standard and want the members to do the same. The equipment is amazing too….from the RPM bikes to the smart bars for BODYPUMP.
PF: What advice do you have for new Phoenix Fitness members or people curious about what we offer?
JG: Don’t give up! It’s no secret the classes are tough, the instructors are motivating and that you will be sore☺. Know that going in, stick with it and you will be addicted like the rest of us in no time!
PF: Outside of Phoenix Fitness-what are your favorite hobbies?
JG: Spending time with family and friends and anything outside that keeps me active.
PF: Share one thing people at Phoenix Fitness might not know about you.
JG: I haven’t really done anything super exciting to share…I need to work on that☺. I’ve been married for 10 years and have 2 children (6 and 3). Oh, and 2 Yorkshire Terriers. That combination keeps me busy! (Editor’s note: We think all of that sounds very exciting. Time to stop selling yourself short! ☺ )
