In our next installment of Transformation Team Tuesday let us introduce you to Charlie Bradford! Charlie is one of our RPM team members with classes Monday nights at 5:30pm, Wednesday 5:30am and Sunday at 9:30am. If you’ve never been to Charlie’s RPM class there’s still a chance you’ve heard them from across Kalamazoo. There’s no ridin’ easy in Charlie’s class-it’s all about ridin’ dirty…and loud!
PF: How did you get started in Fitness?
CB: I’ve been a cyclist and triathlete for a long time. Back in 2008, a friend introduced me to RPM as a way to stay in cycling shape throughout the off season. I signed up for training after just two classes and I’ve been teaching ever since!
PF: What do you love about teaching RPM?
CB: It’s just so much fun! I’ve been teaching for 7 years now and I love it just as much now as I did when I first started. I love the adrenalin, but I also love the sense of accountability. I’ve made some really great friends through my classes and I really believe that people can achieve more when they feel a sense of belonging.
PF: How did you choose Phoenix Fitness?
CB: Of course, I’ve known Marta and Scot for several years. I know they have a real commitment to helping people achieve their health and fitness goals. Like me, they care about people. When I heard they were opening Phoenix Fitness, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
PF: What are a few of your go to healthy snacks?
CB: Fruit is the way to go! I always take a banana, an orange or an apple with me when I start my day. It’s good for me, it’s easy and I don’t have to worry about carrying an extra container around.
PF: Do you work outside teaching at Phoenix Fitness?
CB: Yes, I’m a realtor. I’m very busy running all over the area working with clients who are buying or selling their homes. It’s a great job because every day is different, I get to be out and about instead of sitting in an office and I get to help people through some of the biggest decisions of their lives. It’s very rewarding!
PF: What are your hobbies outside of teaching at Phoenix Fitness?
CB: As I mentioned, I am a cyclist and triathlete so I love being outside running, swimming or riding my bike. I also have three beautiful daughters who are very active. Often I’m at their soccer games, tennis matches or gymnastic meets cheering them on.
PF: What is one thing people at Phoenix Fitness might not know about you?
CB: People may not know that I am an inspiring writer. I hope to be a published author some day. I have written one novel and I have another one in the works. I may not be very good, but like fitness, I do it because I love it. I truly believe that if you keep working at something, the results will come.
Hear, hear Charlie! Thanks for being part of our team!
